Before we began this adventure I did extensive Internet research
looking for someone who has built a home like this before (using SIPs in a
modular factory) – because I wanted them to build one for us.  I had no luck.

When we started talking seriously with Penn Lyon and Murus about
this project, they also did a great deal of their own research within their
industries.  None of us came up with any
information that showed it had been done before.  The closest we could find were companies that
were calling their SIP panelized homes “modular,” and the factory that makes
them a “modular factory.”  To the best of
our knowledge, this is the very first house in the world built like this. 

With that being said, we are willing to be wrong.  Two different people have told me this has
been done before, but it wasn’t their house and they could provide no details.  If anyone can prove to us that this has been
done before, we are willing to take 2nd place… or more.  With or without the title of 1st,
this is still going to be one great house.
